Sometimes a bit of choreography just really cuts through the culture. From Beyonce's ‘Single Ladies’ to Fatboy Slim’s ‘Praise You’ and, of course, ‘WAP’, many a dance routine has been studied and copied after a viral moment. The latest version of this? Jungle’s ‘Back On 74’, which brought some truly iconic choreo to our eyeballs, with fierce moves, arm swings and a whole lot of attitude. When the video dropped, the comments section was bubbling over with praise for the dancing.

It’s impossible to watch the visuals and not fall in love with dancer Will West, who claims the spotlight as his body expressively conveys a whole range of emotions. After bringing loose-hipped energy to earlier tracks like 'Heavy California', West became the thread that runs throughout Jungle’s cinematic videos for their Volcano album. And that’s not the only place you’ll recognise him from: you can also find him gracefully scaling a concrete staircase in Ariana Grande’s ‘yes, and?’ music video.

As fans of West’s ability to capture hearts (and minds) through his steps, we took him out on a wellness day – an opportunity for him to relax and for us to find out what makes him tick. On his request, we checked out some art at Brick Lane Gallery and pulled some pieces while thrifting at a vintage department store in East London – and even saw him backflip off a bench. Dig in below.
