Potato Head is everything you could ever dream of for a chill escape – it’s an eco-conscious village nestled in the stunning Indonesian holiday island of Bali. With sustainability at its very foundations, the ultramodern building is made from recycled brick and concrete cast in reclaimed wood to make a beautiful setting against the natural landscape. Steeped in culture and creativity, late last year the resort opened HEADSTREAM, an in-house studio and record store from which they stream the best of Indonesia’s DJ and artistic talent, as well as cult international acts like South Korean DJ and luxe streetwear label KIRIN founder Peggy Gou.
Co-founder Ronald Akili created Desa Potato Head in 2009 with a mission to shine a spotlight on Indonesian culture while creating the ultimate escape. Spend long days relaxing by the ocean before partying all night: HEADSTREAM lives in a new basement studio space, called ‘the womb’, which was designed by the renowned Bali-based architect Zhi Xiong Chang. You’ll be able to explore the womb, chill, dance, and browse a host of records and zines. Gather round the decks too at the beach club to experience some real local raving with global talent.
Wellness-wise, it really is ‘Good Times HQ’ – with daily guided meditations and yoga flow with inspiring instructors, a sanctuary of a spa that offers alternative forms of wellness and spirituality, including vibroacoustic audio visual therapy, sound healing, breath work, ice bath therapy, energy medicine, somatic release and awakenings six days per week.
You’ll have an unreal selection of food to choose to feast on too. Swim, eat, sip, and relax at one of the two infinity pools and enjoy the beach club food and drink under the sun and swaying palms. Or hit up Ijen, where you'll experience some of the best seafood and pasta dishes around with an Indonesian twist.
