Lalo The Shop is a female-founded, sustainable and fairtrade company honouring the traditional weaving methods and practitioners of Oaxaca. 
 
Lalo The Shop’s mission is to provide a support system within the Oaxacan weaving community and to pay creatives a fair wage whilst preserving their artisanal trade. Lalo bags are designed in London and created by artisans in Oaxaca, woven from recycled PET plastic. Weavers are all based in Mexico and set their own pricing for all their work based on labour, time, cost and material, giving them full financial control.
 
Lalo bags honour and represent the originality and enduring functionality that is deeply rooted in the tradition. Due to the nature of the material and the fact that each bag is hand-created, irregularities and inconsistencies are to be expected, making each bag a unique one-off piece.
