Weekends are great and all, but as they come to a close, they're often tainted by a weirdly unsettling feeling. Sunday evenings; it's a period where we find ourselves simultaneously anticipating the stresses of Monday morning while grieving the freedom of the weekend. Time seems to speed up as the modern cultural phenomenon that is the “Sunday Scaries” kicks in.

That's why we're providing an antidote. Every Sunday, we bring you a roundup of the week's ICYMI moments. From the news that might make you feel good, to the TV shows to binge and playlists to get lost in. So read on, and get ready to reclaim your Sunday night!

BLAST SOME MEGAN THEE STALLION

Megan’s second album Traumazine has dropped – and it’s her best work yet. The icon gets more political and personal than she previously has, expressing both the trauma of being subjected to misogynoir and the necessity of bodily autonomy. The track “Anxiety” sees the rapper open up about her mental health, while featuring a sample of yodelling – a bold choice that fits the heavy subject matter. Referencing the repeal of Roe v Wade, she leaves “Gift & a Curse” with the line, “My motherfucking body/My choice.” “Sweetest Pie” sees a sugary pop collab with Dua Lipa that is sure to be an earworm for months to come. With a steady voice, smooth flow, interesting samples and killer features from the likes of Rico Nasty, Future and Jhené Aiko to name a few, this album leaves a lasting impression. Megan has once again reminded us that she really is “the baddest bitch”.

WATCH A QUEER ADAPTATION OF A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN

Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson has co-created a remake of the 1992 film A League of Their Own, turning it into a hilarious comedy series and queer masterpiece. The show follows a women’s football team in 1943, and passes the Bechdel Test with flying colours. With multiple LGBTQ+ romances and a queer speakeasy to boot, this is a refreshing retelling packed with the cringe and awkward humour Jacobson is famous for. This patches up the gaping hole left in our hearts from the last season of Broad City.

SCROLL THROUGH THE ANTI-FAT SHAMING TIKTOK TREND

There has been a backlash against fat-shaming videos on TikTok that saw people in baggy tops pulling them to reveal super slim waistlines, effectively saying that it’s okay to wear baggy clothes if the figure underneath it fits beauty ideals. Immediately, this trend was criticised, and soon after triggered a new body acceptance trend on the app. Users started their videos off in the same way, dressed in similarly baggy tops. Except in these TikToks, people either refuse to show their body underneath, or pull the clothes tighter to reveal larger bodies.
