And it’s not the first time the hearthrob has cried and broke our collective hearts

From Bennifer’s Vegas wedding that was 20 years in the making to Drew Barrymore basking in the rain after a heatwave, the time for earnest celebrity summer is upon us. After a tough few isolating years of lockdowns and restrictions, and a future of stagflation and ridiculous heating bills, we’ll take joy wherever we can find it. The latest addition to the cute trend of stars exuding sincerity is a poignant TikTok of Mr. Styles crying his heart out on stage for his Wembley show during a performance of his hit song, “Matilda”.

The fan favourite is a gentle ballad inspired by someone he met in real life who grew up in a troubled household. In it he extends empathy to anyone else who's struggled with and survived similar upbringings. In this fan-made footage of a gig on the European leg of his Harry's House tour, you can see the tear as it rolls down his cheek, glistening in the light just moments after a heart balloon was released into the sky.

The pop icon is no stranger to publicly expressing emotions – which we’re so here for. The waterworks started during his One Direction era, especially after Zayn left, and they haven’t turned off much since. Over the years he’s been known to shed a tear for every emotion; he cried while performing with his hero Stevie Nicks, sobbed after going solo, and welled up while he watched his sold out hometown show sing his first solo single back to him. Never failing to show up as his authentic self, it’s hardly a surprise that Styles has had a uni course dedicated to him and his many layers.

We’ve rounded up a sweet selection of all the times Harry has been seen overcome with emotion. Buckle up folks, there are some real tearjerkers in here. We’re not crying… you are (and so is he, probably).
